Muthuaini AA Washed

Cherries for this lot were contributed to the Muthuaini Factory by members of the The Mutheka Farmers’ Co-operative Society. The members are subsistence farmers who each grow approximately 200 coffee trees on their small plots.

On arrival at the factory, cherry is floated and selected, depulped, fermented, and then washed thoroughly. Keeping with traditional Kenyan coffee processing, beans are soaked for a second time after washing and then dried on raised African beds.
