Muthuaini AA Washed

SL28 and SL34 varietals are cultivated from about 200 coffee trees grown on small half-acre family plots. These small farms give producers close control over their harvests, allowing them to pick only the ripest cherries. After handpicking, the cherries are taken to the Muthiani Factory, a wet mill operated by the Mutheka Farmers’ Co-operative Society. Here they are sorted, depulped, fermented and washed. Once the washing stage is complete, the coffee is soaked in clean water overtime to develope the classic flavours associated with the Kenyan washed process.
